What is a blockchain based academic credential verification system?
A blockchain based academic credential verification system is software infrastructure that issues academic credentials (degrees, diplomas, mark-sheets, certificates) as cryptographically signed digital records anchored on a public blockchain — and lets anyone verify those credentials, instantly, without contacting the issuing institution.

Tamper-evident on-chain anchoring
Every academic credential is signed with an Ed25519 key by the issuing institution and anchored on a public, permissionless blockchain. The record is immutable — any alteration produces a different cryptographic hash and verification fails immediately.

The free public verifier returns a tamper-evident result in under 3 seconds. No registrar call, no manual review, no platform login — anyone, anywhere can verify any credential issued on the system.
W3C Verifiable Credentials + DID
Each credential is a W3C VC 2.0 with a DID-based issuer identity. Globally interoperable. Compatible with any standards-compliant wallet, university portal, or government identity system.
Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZK)
ZK / zkSNARK proofs allow employers to verify credential validity without exposing the holder's personal information — DPDP Act 2023 and GDPR compliant by design.

Institution Onboarding
Your university completes KYC and DID-based identity attestation. The institution's signing key is provisioned in a hardware-backed key management system. NAD and DigiLocker onboarding handled in parallel.
Bulk Credential Issuance
Degrees, diplomas, mark-sheets, and micro-credentials are minted as W3C Verifiable Credentials via CSV upload or direct API. Metadata is pinned to IPFS; the on-chain anchor is published with a single transaction per batch.
