The university credentialplatform built for India

Standards-driven credential infrastructure — W3C Verifiable Credentials, OpenBadges 3.0, DID — plus native NAD, ABC, and DigiLocker integration and NAAC-aligned reporting. Built for convocation-day scale, designed for institutions that want to outlast any single vendor.

What the platform actually does

Six capabilities every institutional buyer in India should expect from a credential platform in 2026.

Bulk issuance at convocation scale

Issue 5,000 credentials in 30 minutes. Automated webhook from your ERP triggers the full pipeline — schema validation, on-chain anchoring, NAD push, ABC posting, DigiLocker push.

Free public verification

Anyone — employer, embassy, alumni, student — can verify any issued credential in 10 seconds. No login. No fees. No rate limits.

NAD + ABC + DigiLocker, in one transaction

Every issuance simultaneously registers with all three national systems. No parallel data entry, no reconciliation drift.

W3C VC, OpenBadges 3.0, DID — all native

Standards-compliant from day one. Credentials issued today work in any W3C VC wallet globally — no proprietary lock-in.

Samarth, TCS iON, SAP, custom ERP integration

Native integration patterns for every major Indian university SIS. Deploy on top of your existing examination workflow.

NAAC-aligned reporting

Issuance metrics export directly to IIQA and AQAR formats. Best-practice case study templates included for criteria 1.4, 2.6, 7.1.

The full architecture, layer by layer

Six layers, each addressable. Buyers can ask vendors to walk through this stack — gaps are easy to spot.

1

Public verifier (citizen-facing)

Free, instant, no-login degree verification at gradifytech.com/verifier

2

Issuance dashboard (institution-facing)

Bulk upload, single-credential issuance, revocation, audit log, branded subdomain

3

Standards layer

W3C Verifiable Credentials 2.0 · DID v1.0 · OpenBadges 3.0 · Ed25519 signatures

4

Compliance integrations

NAD push (NSDL/CDSL) · ABC credit posting · DigiLocker issuer pull URI

5

Anchoring layer

Solana mainnet for cryptographic anchoring · IPFS for content-addressed metadata

6

Analytics & audit

Issuance analytics · verification analytics · NAAC-formatted exports · DPDP consent log

Built for every flavour of Indian institution

Central & state universities

Full-institution issuance for UG, PG, and doctoral programmes. Samarth ERP integration. NAD/ABC compliance. Multi-campus support.

Deemed & private universities

TCS iON / custom ERP integration. Branded verifier subdomain. International student-mobility ready (W3C VC works abroad).

Autonomous colleges

Issuance under affiliating-university DID, or independent issuance with own DID. Scoped pricing for smaller enrolment.

Skill councils & boards

OB3 micro-credential issuance with NSQF/QP-NOS alignment. Multi-institution issuer model. Convocation-style bulk runs.

Vendor-evaluation checklist

12 questions for any credential platform vendor

Print this. Walk it through any RFP shortlist. A platform that cannot tick all 12 is not yet ready for institutional credentialling in India.

  • 1W3C Verifiable Credentials Data Model 2.0 — confirmed in writing
  • 2OpenBadges 3.0 conformance — for micro-credentials
  • 3DID v1.0 issuer identifiers — not proprietary IDs
  • 4Linked-data Ed25519 proofs — re-verifiable from any RPC node
  • 5Native NAD push — both NSDL and CDSL supported
  • 6Native ABC credit posting — at credential level, not batch level
  • 7DigiLocker issuer integration — Pull URI pattern
  • 8DPDP Act 2023 alignment — selective disclosure available
  • 9Free public verifier — no login, no rate limits
  • 10Audit-grade issuance and verification logs
  • 11Samarth / TCS iON / SAP ERP integration patterns documented
  • 12NAAC criterion mapping with exportable evidence

Buyer FAQs

Why pick a standards-driven platform over a proprietary one?+
Lock-in. A proprietary credential platform owns your students' verifiability — if the vendor changes terms, sunsets the product, or raises prices, your alumni's credentials are at the vendor's mercy. A W3C VC + DID platform produces credentials that any compliant wallet and verifier can read, forever, with or without the original platform. Pick standards.
How does this compare to traditional digital certificate platforms?+
Traditional platforms produce signed PDFs whose verification requires the platform's server to be online and the verifier to trust the platform's certificate. A blockchain-anchored W3C VC platform produces credentials that verify against a public chain regardless of vendor uptime, with cryptographic certainty rather than vendor trust.
What is the typical implementation timeline?+
12 weeks for full institution-wide rollout including ERP integration, NAD/ABC/DigiLocker push, and team training. A 6-week pilot for a single department or alumni batch is common before institution-wide go-live. Detailed phase plan: see the NEP 2020 ABC playbook page.
Do we own our data?+
Yes. Issuer DID and signing keys are under institutional control; we operate them on your behalf in a custodial mode unless you elect self-custody. Issuance and verification logs are your data — exportable any time, in standard JSON. There is no scenario where the platform leaving your service costs you your students' credentials.
Is this suitable for state-level / multi-institution programmes?+
Yes. State boards and skilling councils run multi-tenant issuance — one programme, many institutions, each issuing under their own profile but sharing the verification surface. We have specific tier configuration for board-level and government-level deployments.
What about credentials issued before we adopted the platform?+
Back-loaded as part of onboarding. We routinely back-fill 5–10 years of historical credentials so alumni get verifiability even for pre-adoption degrees. Original issuance dates and registrar signatures are preserved in the credential metadata.
Will this disrupt our existing examination process?+
No. The platform attaches to your examination output — it does not replace your examination workflow. Results are still declared the way you declare them today; the credential infrastructure issues machine-readable, blockchain-anchored credentials in parallel. Staff workflow is unchanged.
